Inspiration

This post is solely inspiration even though I have a few days worth of outfits sitting on my memory card.

(This belongs to the Sartorialist)

I love the structured suits of the women in the picture from the Sartorialist. Also, THE STROKES sure maybe they're ~so 2005~ and their look is 'too California' but oh my god I will never, ever get over them and the impressive way their pants fit.

XO

Gabi and I decided we should take a 'hike' at the nature preserve but then she came to pick me up and we both realized that neither of us actually know how to dress for any kind of outdoor activity. So we ended up trying the best we could and realizing we were more aptly dressed for something else. But as we were walking back to the parking lot we noticed a group of people who were all dressed for hiking but had all driven separately; so who really loves nature? At least we carpooled.

Meet Me by the Water

Gabi says she's been listening to a lot of "Saturday looks good to me" thus the whimsical ass title which is obviously a line from a song. In reality, though, it's too cold to hang out at the water treatment plant (where we were) for much longer than it took for us to get the pictures. Also, today was a theme outfit day. The theme met somewhere between U.S.A. and Nautical; American sailing whimsy or something equally as strange.

Silver Rocket

I guess this is an intro post, even though I'm the only one who is doing it. We (Gabi and myself) decided to start this blog to do a couple of things; the initial and most important is to show that even though we live in an aberzombie hell hole we haven't let our fashionable (or at least we like to think) sensibilities leave us. The second is to document our outfits since most days the only people who get to appreciate them are the two of us.

Gabi:
Tall, smart, pretends she doesn't like to be told she looks like Karen O. Wears a lot of lace and floral, generally dresses something like a really fashionable child going on a sassy playdate (sorry, you weren't here to fill this out yourself).

(Thrifted blazer, boots, dress, and blouse)

Shailee:
I'm short and like to pretend I don't like to be compared to Drew Barrymore circa the 1990's (but really who wouldn't like that?). My wardrobe is a lot of black and mesh. I refuse to get over black and I've been wearing the same over the knee socks for awhile now.

So. In reality this is like any other fashion blog -- show off how good we think we are at dressing ourselves, throw in the occasional opinion of fashion week or a book or album and generally just try to make ourselves look cooler than we really are. But let's be honest, we don't live any place that could be misconstrued as cool.
